Yes, We're Back!

After taking a long break we're relaunching our local website to support and inform the local community. It is still under construction. Mind your step, excuse the dust. Come and join us, make it happen.

When you wish to share any information locally, this here is the space for it. If you are one of the movers and shakers in Rottingdean and Saltdean with something to say or promote, we'd like to hear from you and share you news and activities. Use the email link on top of the page to contact us.

Local Community

Rottingdean, Saltdean, and nearby neighbourhoods have a vibrant community scene. Groups with many interests like bowling, canoeing, cricket, golf, tennis, surfing, swimming, lifesaving and more, meet weekly all around town.

Then there are organisations like the Lions, Rotary Club, Townswomen's Guild, Free Lifesavers, Saltdean United Football Club, or Scouts to mention a few. The village of Rottingdean is actually older than Brighton, whilst Saltdean grew mainly since the 1930's.

Directions

From Brighton take the A259 towards Newhaven. Bus services 12, 12A, 12X, 13X, 14, 27, and 47 come in from Brighton and Eastbourne.

In Rottingdean the car parking area is just north of the A259 next to the White Horse Hotel which overlooks the beach. In Saltdean the car parking area is behind the Lido, also just north of the A259.

The Whitecliffs Cafe overlooks Saltdean beach and serves yummy food and drinks. Toilets are available halfway up the cliff ramp on Saltdean Beach, not in the cafe. The Undercliff walk from Saltdean to Brighton is a nice walk in summer. With a little luck you get soaked by a wave.
